More Basic than my Coffee Order. Basic Breading.
Okay, in todays quick recipe, we are going to make a quick and easy breading that I consider one of my go to options for chicken or vegetables. Let’s just get straight into it, so that you can incorporate this into making some crispy chicken or giving texture to your oven roasted vegetables.
-What You Need-
1 Sleeve of Ritz Crackers(or any non branded butter crackers)
1/2 Stick of Unsalted Butter
4 Cloves of Garlic, finely minced
Fresh Herbs(Thyme, Rosemary, Oregano, Regular or Italian Parsley)
Kosher Salt and Freshly Ground Black Pepper to taste
-Lets Get To It-
1) Start by crushing your full sleeve of crackers in a mixing bowl until they are a relatively small size.
2) Use your at-home-mini-nuclear-cookerator(microwave) to melt your 1/2 stick of butter. add your melted butter to the broken crackers and crumbs, and mix it until full incorporated.
3) Add your fresh herbs(you can eyeball this, or just add how much you think is right, make sure that these herbs are either finely chopped or ground), as well as your garlic, and some pepper. You want to taste the breading before adding any additional salt, due to the high salt content of the crackers.
4) Use on chicken or vegetables. You can even mix in crabmeat to get a small crab-cake, mix in finely cut up mushroom stems and stuff mushrooms, stuff shrimp, lobster tail, or mix in some fresh clams and you can stuff those into some Quahog shells for the New England Classic, STUFFIES! Enjoy.
